The Adventures and Misadventures of a Neer Do Well Artist Living in Baltimore.

My Photo
Name:
Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States

I am a visual artist and writer living in Baltimore. I don't have any artist friends. Frankly, artists scare me, there so darn flaky. The above picture is either of me or proof that I'm a pretty decent artist. My goal is to be a self sufficient artist, whereas I wouldn't have to do something else in the day in order to eke out an existence. I also like to attend various cultural events around town. I go to plays, the symphony, etc. Also, I have Asperger's Syndrome. I found this out recently and it has explained a heck of a lot as to why I am as I am.

MORNING COMMUTE:
Today, I am late yet again for work. I could not believe my eyes this morning when the train came. After three days of a single car train we are back to two cars! It is cloudy this morning. I have to break out of this funk of lateness. Also at Dunkin Donuts today there was a three person crew. I think they must have hired the new girl last week to work on Fridays. I could not help but notice that the store was unusually crowded this morning. With the help of the new girl the line moved through rather quickly and I did not miss my train.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on stone washed jeans, Nike MaxAir shoes, and tie dyed short sleeve top that is pretty much red, white, and blue with
touches of yellow ochre. It has a design on it of a night cityscape with fireworks going off. Its very colourful.

MORNING COMMUTE:
I am late yet again. This makes the third day in row that the morning train has been short a car. What gives? The train home has the correct number of cars yet the one in the morning is short. I this on purpose or a short sight of the driver?

WHAT I DID LAST NIGHT
Last night I did not get home until after 11pm. The reason for this was that after work I went to Walmart to buy a air pump for my niece’s pool. I had to do it because I promised her I would. Yesterday her pool arrived and all she needed was an airpump to fill the pool up. I arrived at her house around 7:30. Then I proceeded to pump air into the pool. I thought it would be a simple process. Unfortunately it was not. I had a hard time getting it filled with air. I gave up at around 8:45. It was getting dark and the mosquitoes were beginning to get to me. My arms were red with there possibly West Nile virus infected bites. I do not know what I was doing wrong with the air pump. I thought it would be easy to figure out. I should note here that I have never used an air pump before. I would usually hand duties like that over to my brother. Maybe I will pay my grand niece’s Uncle to put air into the pool. Also I learned that she will be starting school on Friday. Hooray! She will not become a second grade drop out. The reason for the delay was that her mom works evenings and is transferring her to another school. Her mother will not be able to hand in the paperwork until Thursday.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on blue jeans, New Balance 653 shoes, and a dark blue top that has a design of white flowers on it.

MORNING COMMUTE:
This morning I am late again. I did overtime last night. I am getting a gift certificate from Giant. The train is yet again short a car. What the heck is going on? I can not believe this happened two days in row.

SHAY NOT IN SCHOOL
I am worried that my grandniece has not started school yet. I would hate for her to fall behind in her schoolwork and end up being an elementary school dropout.

Today, I have on black slacks, Nike MaxAir shoes, and a grey short sleeve Henley.

MORNING COMMUTE:
I’m late again for work. The man is not at the counter at Dunkin Donuts instead it is the woman. The train is short a car. I do not understand why. I hope we will not have to switch trains at North Avenue.

MAYORAL DEBATE:
Last night I watched the mayoral debate on MPTV. I was struck by how tall Kieffer Mitchell is. He is practically a giant in comparison to the other candidates. Sheila Dixon in my opinion did not do so well during the debate. She just did seem polished enough. Robert Kauffman did a great job of proposing outlandish crackpot solutions for problems. Had to laugh when he suggested opening up certain areas soley for the sale of drugs. Kauffman I believe is a registered Communist or something. He’s OK but he’s not no Monroe Cornish.

God, I miss Monroe Cornish. The man was a legend. Unfortunately he is dead. During mayoral debates he would talk about aliens and stuff. Not illegal aliens but the ones from outer space. The man was comedic gold. To this day I do not if he was serious or if he did the debates as a joke.

All in all I still have not decided who I am going to vote for. Unfortunately, I can not simply just Vote Saxon.SENATOR SOLICITING SEX
The big national news story today is the Idaho senator, Larry Craig who solicited sex in an airport mens room. He frequently voted against bills that would have benefited gays. I found the whole thing ironic. The person who was vehemently against that lifestyle was actually into it. My goodness he’s a hypocrite!

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on black slacks, black canvas tennis shoes, and a short sleeve tan blouse that is decorated with various white flowers.

MORNING COMMUTE:
I must change my alarm clock back to ringing at 4am. Having it go off at 5am is not working for me. I do not want to run into school kids on the bus or light rail.

The start of the day is clear, bright, and slightly chilly. I doubt that my niece will be starting school today.... I hope she does not end up becoming an elementary school drop out.

Today, I have on black slacks, a blue and white short sleeve button up blouse, and New Balance 653 shoes.

SUNDAY
Amazingly, I visted my father again. While there my niece, Alexis, ordered pizza and sandwiches. I watched Gunfight at the OK Corral while I was there. It was a salute to Kirk Douglas on TCM (Turner Classic Movies). I have not watched a station like that since my mother died. When my mother was alive we would often times plop down to watch old movies all day on AMC (American Movie Classics). As I was leaving Dad came into the living room to watch movies. He told me that the TV is always on either the Disney channel or Nick Jr. So I guess he thought he would watch something differnent before the kids came in to switch the channel to the all Hannah Montana station.

MORNING COMMUTE:
I’m working again this Saturday. Its supposed to be super hot today. Highs near 100. I knew I should have bought my grandniece a pool this week and had it shipped over! Oh, well. Speaking of which Im going to buy her an iPod today and maybe take her to the State Fair or the movies depends on what happens. I forgot to bring along my computer. She wanted to use it to put music on her iPod when she gets it sometime today. I suppose I will have to go back home after I get off work to retrieve the computer and bring it over to their house. Also I will have to call my niece to remind her to cash the check I gave her.

MORNING COMMUTE:
I would have been on time today if it was not for the train showing up three minutes early. You can not imagine my emotion as the bus was about to stop and I looked out the window and saw the train pull off three minutes early. I uttered under my breath, “Son of a Bitch!” I swear nothing runs right on the MTA.

I want the light rail driver we had before this one. He was usually on time or a couple of minutes late. None of this showing up extra early shit. Does the driver not know that the majority of people taking the train are transferring from buses? Its like he is purposely trying to trip people up. As far as the weather goes its still dark and dreary this morning.

IS JENN BACK?
Today, I believe I finally figured out that the woman who looked like a former employee is in fact her. I kept looking at her wondering if she was or was not Jennifer. I wanted to walk up to her and say Hi, Jenn! But what if it was not Jennifer but just a woman that looks like her or maybe her sister or something? When I saw her talking to my supervisor I knew it must be her. New people do not normaly have long animated conversations with our supervisor unless they know her. So I suppose after leaving the company Jenn is back in town!

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on blue jeansssss, Nike MaxAir shoes, and the infamous turqouise tee shirt with a rhinestone decorated pineapple on it.

MORNING COMMUTE:
Im late again. Yesterday I would have been on time if the train and the bus.... Oh Wel! It is is still dark and cloudy outside. The train stopped for the longest time at a downtown light. It made me wonder if the the train had broken down. Fortunately it had not.

THOSE DARN ORIOLES
I do not normally cover sports news. However, this I could not ignore. It was the hot topic on channel 13’s Morning Show with Don and Marty. I had no idea that it was over 100 years ago that something like that had ever happened. It was all due to a makeup game with the Texas Rangers. My hometown baseball team, The Baltimore Orioles, shockingly lost a game 3 to 30. A lot of the men on the train were talking about the game. I also wondered if the Latino men were talking about it as well. I do not know for sure I don’t speak Spanish very well. All I can say is that they seemed unusually animated about something. I remember getting on the train going home on the day of the rained out Texas game. I recall seeing a couple of Texas Rangers jerseys. I was surprised by this because the majority of baseball fans who invade our fair yet murderous city are either Red Sox or Yankees fans. The other odd thing about that ride was that I saw a pasenger who bore an eerie resemblance to my late Uncle Stanley. I wondered if it was a possibilty that his last name was Willis, maybe he was a distant relative or something.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on a magenta short sleeve top, blue jeans, and New Balance 653 shoes.

MORNING COMMUTE
Its dark, cloudy, and the ground is wet. I caught the bus on time. The train was late. It did not show up until 6:20. While I was waiting for the train I wanted to buy something fron Dunkin Donuts. However, while looking through the store window I could see that they were out of Reduced Fat Blueberry muffins and they had a pretty long line inside the store. Its seemed a bit chancey to go in and risk the possibility of missing my train.

OVERTIME
Yesterday, I did overtime again. I stayed until 7:30. I wonder if every Tuesday they will offer this? For dinner we had cold cuts, buffalo wings, and a bottled soda. I chose a cold cut and a diet soda. Last week we had Chik-fil-A. I had never had Chik-Fil-A chicken before. It tasted pretty good. I think I might give them a try the next time Im at Towson Town Center. Im sure if my job does another 7:30 overtime next week they might be serving pizza for dinner.

I did not choose my gift card yet. When I do I think might choose Target..

WHAT IM WEARING:
Its 60 degrees outside right now. The high is expected to be in the low 70’s. I have on a short sleeve red and white striped button up cotton blouse, green khaki slacks, and Nike MaxAir shoes. I should have put on a sweater or jacked but unfortunately all my fall/winter clothes are still packed away.

MORNING COMMUTE:
This morning the weather is exactly as it was when I left work yesterday, wet and rainy. I left out to catch the bus on time. However, I saw the bus pull off before I could make a run for it. I ended up taking a cab to the light rail station.

The driver I got was an elderly man who looks like he has Alzheimer’s. I knew there would be a good chance that he would get where I wanted to go wrong. I told him I wanted to go to the light rail station across from Fifth Regiment Armory. As predicted he took me to the wrong place. He drove to the subway station then claimed that he had no idea that there was a light rail station near the Armory. Give me a break old man! You purposely drove me to the wrong place so you could make extra money! Im on to you old man!

It seems almost everytime I get this driver he drives to the wrong place. I used to think maybe he was just an old man on the verge of developing Alzeheimers now Im starting to think that its all a scam. How he managed to be a cabbie for this long is beyond me? I paid for the fare with rain soaked money. On a good note, I was on time for work.

SUNDAY
I spent the day at home reading gossip sites like TMZ and MediaTakeOut and Dlisted and Perez Hilton. God/Goddess I love reading these sites! Thought about buying my grandniece a pool.

Yesterday, I helped her clean out her old pool. It had a lot of green slimy stuff on the bottom. Once we got the pool slightly presentable looking I noticed that there was a hole. I wanted to go out right away and buy her a new pool right away. This kid worked her butt off and it turned out it was all for nothing.

My sister Carleen suggested it would be better if I called before I went anywhere to buy a pool. Every store I called was out of pools. I felt sad because my niece had this really determined look on her face when she was cleaning the pool. I found a pool online but it will deliver in 1-2 days. I think I will place an order for it tommorrow or Tuesday. It is supposed to be near 90 degrees this weekend so summer is not entirely over.

Also on the way home from work yesterday I saw a woman from work she had a lot of bags from Walmart. I wonder if she got a gift card for that store for doing overtime and decided to use it right away.

MORNING COMMUTE:
Yep, I decided to come in again to do Saturday overtime. The weather this morning is absolutely beautiful. The sky is bright blue without a cloud in the sky. I weighed myself this morning and amazingly I have not gained as much weight as I thought I did. In fact I weigh the same as I did last month. I suppose all the walking and water drinking has helped to keep my weight stable. I will have to get around to adjusting my pedometer to my new weight. That is if I can find the instruction booklet for it. I also have to progam in my stride. If I can’t find it I’ll have to go on Amazon.com and read a .pdf version

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on tan leather flip flops that look one size too big, a yellow top that has a design of various blue and white flowers on it. I also have on a pair of jean shorts that come to my knee. I think I’ll make wearing shorts to work for Saturday overtime my thing. I’ll think I’ll keep it up until at least the weather changes.

MORNING COMMUTE:
Late again. However, I got the Flo Jo driver. They have hired a new person at Dunkin Donuts. The iced coffee she mixed tasted excellent. That is until I noticed the strand of hair. Oh, well...

WORK NEWS
Yesterday, co-worker Arnold had on a black t-shirt! He never wears t-shirts. He always has on short sleeve button down cotton shirts. He dresses like my late Uncle Stanley. He looked more youthful in the t-shirt. It seemed to be layered underneath by a grey shirt. I’ve noticed lately he seems a little more chipper. Maybe he’s met someone and that someone took him shopping for new clothes. Its like the look took years off him.

RADIO NEWS
Today, local blues legend in the making, Kelly Bell resurfaced on the Ed Norris Show. He was funny as hell. Dude, needs to get his own show. He said that the reason he has not been on KMS since they moved to HFS is contractual. He is a part time employee on 98 Rock. I guess that means that they pay him for his appearances on the morning show. I never knew that. I just thought he showed up on shows because he wanted to hang out not that he was being paid to hang out.

MORNING COMMUTE:
This morning I am late yet again. Last night we had overtime. We were bribed with food and $50 gift certificates to stay at work untill 7:30 pm. I stayed until 7:40. I got home from work around 9:30.

I am starting to feel that the hours I am working are starting to stress me out. I do not have enough time after work to do yoga and Ive been over eating mainly Crunch N’ Munch popcorn. I fear that if I continue on I will gain back the weight I lost five years ago.

The only good thing I’ve been doing is continuing on with my thirty minute walk during my lunch break. I think the only reason I do this is force of habit or simply OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Also I can’t stand our break room it feels so claustrophobic I can not stand to stay too long in there.

Yesterday about 500 people let me know that the food arrived. WoW! I had no idea that they noticed me much. They brought in trays of Chik-fill-A food. I have never had food from that chain before. It was very good. I ate it because it was within my window of eating for dinner. I prefer to eat dinner between 6-8pm. The food arrived around 6:50. Brian and Colleen bought it in. I was gathering some paperwork when I saw them carrying the bags and trays. Surprisingly the food left next to no greasey residue.

MORNING COMMUTE:
I’m late again this morning. I caught the #10 bus it was being driven the driver who reminds me of Queen Latifah in Set It Off.

I suppose the main reason I’ve been late lately is because Im doing a lot of overtime. Im doing it because my family needs money. I would hate for them to become homeless or left without electricity in the winter. Im also afraid of my energy bill. BGE went up 75% last month. My summer bill looks like a typical bill for winter. I shutter to think how things will look for winter. Im thinking about leaving out of Baltimore and moving to a more affordable city or maybe out of the country entirely. I kind of like the idea of moving to of course the UK. or maybe Norway or Prague.

Ive always wanted to live in Prague because the city looks like something out of a fairy tale. Ive never been there but it sure looks pretty. Plus there is a section of the city thats full of American expatriots. So I could conceivably move there and never have to learn to speak a foreign language. I could also move to Australia or Canada. Notice I only want to move to foreign countries where English is the main language. The only language I kind of know is French. I took three years of it in High School.

ELVIS PAPER
Yesterday, a girl from work showed me an article from the Weekly World News about Elvis. This is the second person from work who has forwarded an Elvis related article to me. Also my supervisor showed me a picture of an Elvis impersonator that her youngest daughter took. I suppose Im a magnet for this because of all the Elvis pictures up on my cubicle.

MORNING COMMUTE:
A crowded bus equals a late bus. So yep, Im late again. I’ve decided that the bald bus driver resembles more the lead singer of Hot Chocolate than Issac Hayes. While on the train I fell asleep. This was either due to the fact that I was sleepy or did not have enough time to grab an iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts...

KARL ROVE RESIGNS:
I still can not believe that Emperor Palpatine aka Karl Rove has resigned from the White House. I think he resigned because he is on the verge of being indicted. In the meantime I suspect that he will continue to run the Republicans from Texas..... that is until he is indicted. If he’s indicted Im sure that Bush will pardon him. So does it really matter?

Today, I have on blue jeans, New Balance 653 shoes, a short sleeve navy blue and white striped t-shirt with red detailing around the neckline and sleeves.

SUNDAY
Today, I went over my father’s house to visit. As I was leaving he gave me half his fish sandwich. I soon got a really bad headache. I think the reason he gave me the sandwich was probably because he could not eat it because it gave him a really bad headache. The only thing that comes to mind to cause that is that there must have been too much salt or sodium in the sandwich. This despite the fact that Im sure that he told the restauraunt not to put any salt on it. It did taste very plain. In fact it was downright flavourless and bland. I suppose the salt was coming from the fish fillet itself. It was probably pre-packaged to be a little salty.

While over my fathers house I promised to buy my grandniece an iPod shuffle. I watched Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Im sure the two blond haired male twins on show will grow up to become gay or something. The both of them seem oddly effiminate at such a young age or maybe its just that they are horrible actors....

On the way home I took an alternative walking route to the bus stop in an attempt to avoid walking in the sun. I did not know that Fairfax road was near where my father lived. My Uncle Leon used to live on Fairfax Road before he moved to suburbia.

The weather this morning is absolutley beautiful. The sky is actually blue and there is not a cloud in it. Today, I am heading into work to do some over time. I would have went last Saturday but I went to Virginfest instead.

I took a cab over to the North Avenue Station. The driver had on 88.9 which plays oldies on Saturday morning. I love to listen to that station when I do Saturday overtime. He also suggested a radio station on Comcast that plays oldies. He also complemented me on my lips. This makes the second cab driver in a year who has complimented my lips. Weird....

MORNING COMMUTE:
The bus was on time yet again. It was being driven again by the driver with the blonde auburn hair that looks like the black gossip writer that used to be on the E channels Gossip Show.

Wow! Two days in a row. Is she staying? Will she now be our permanent driver? Only time will tell..

When I got off the bus poised to catch the train on time. I saw a horrible site before my eyes. Everywhere there were police cars, a fire truck, and an ambulance. Most horrifying of all I saw the train stopped at the midway point. It could mean only one thing, there must have been......an accident! Thus, I will be late for the third time this week and most importantly it was NOT MY FAULT. All I know about the accident was that a woman was trying to run to catch the train and got struck by it. It was not a direct hit. It sounded from witnesses accounts that the train struck maybe her shoulder or arm region. The side of her body. It also sounded like from witnesses accounts that she is still alive. They told of how her arm was twitching when they loaded her into the ambulance. In total I was about 37 minutes late for work and it was NOT MY FAULT!

EVENING COMMUTE:
Oddly, on the train ride home the train was crowded as can be! I had to stand up for most of the ride. The train had the usual number of cars. I wondered what in the world was going on. I looked around and noticed a lot of people were wearing Boston Red Sox T-shirts. I transferred to my usual bus home and that was crowded too. Things are not normally that crowded. The Red Sox nation has taken over Baltimore.

CAUGHT IN THE RAIN
Yesterday, I got caught in the rain while walking back towards work during my daily lunch time walk. It was kind of fun. It was a torrential downpour. This was a welcome relief from the extreme heat I faced this weekend at the Virgin Festival standing out in the hot sun. All I know now is that the temperature will most likely be going down because it rained.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on a tye dyed turquoise t-shirt, blue jeans, New Balance 653 shoes.

MORNING COMMUTE:
Last night I got about five hours of sleep as oppossed to 3-4 in previous nights. I still can not believe it was 102 degrees yesterday. Today it will be in the low 90’s. The heatwave is almost breaking.

The bus was on time. Today it was being driven by a woman who resembled a black gossip writer whose name I can not recall. She was on the E entertainment Gossip Show in the 90’s. Florence something or other?

Anyway, the driver was so new to the route that several passengers had to point out to her where the stops were at. Why can’t the number #20 bus have a regular driver? Everyday its a new driver and a new pattern. The driver seemed very bouncy and cheerful as though she was having fun being our driver of the day. If they are cheerful you know they will not last long as a bus driver. The ones that last long seemed to be glum as though all the joys of life have been sucked out of them.

The light rail train arrived at 6:12. So far nothing bad has happened. No announcements of shuttle buses or power being out.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on blue jeans, Nike MaxAir shoes, and a lavender Coca Cola t-shirt that has a picture of a bottle of Coke on it and flowers. It is emblazoned with the tag line, Surfing & Coca Cola. What that means I do not know? I just bought the shirt because it looked pretty.

MORNING COMMUTE:
It was not as hot outside this morning as it was yesterday. There was a slight breeze blowing. In fact it was down right pleasant in comparison to yesterdays morning weather. Despite this highs are expected to reach 100 degrees with a heat index of 106. The heat wave rolls on...

I fell asleep around 2-3 am. Im keeping medical student intern hours. I live off of large quantitees of coffee. This morning I am late again because the bus was late. The bus was driven by a woman who wore cornrows. She kind of reminded me of Queen Latifah in, that bank heist picture, Set it Off. When I got off the bus heading to the light rail station I could not help but notice that 54 people were out waiting for the train. I know it was 54 people because I counted them. Naturally, my heart began to fill with dread. Obviously something was wrong with the train for that many people to standing around. When the train came he said we had to catch a shuttle bus at North Avenue because a was tree down on the overhead wires. So it looks Im going to be late.

On thing for sure was that the light rail driver was the best ever. I give him props for telling us what was going on. Other drivers would not have told us a damn thing and just stopped at North Avenue and said the bus was out of service with no explanations. It took forever for the shuttle bus to arrive. When it came I saw a bunch of people getting in through the back door. I followed them because I wanted a seat and the MTA never sends a shuttle that is big enough to hold there passengers. You usually end up standing.

I fell asleep during the drive over to the Lutherville stop. It arrived at the Lutherville light rail stop a little after 8 AM. While waiting for the Hunt Valley train three southbound trains passed by none of the passengers got off and got on a shuttle bus. I could only deduce the reason being was that the tree had been removed from the overhead wires. I wonder how it was that a tree alledgedly fell because it was not particularly windy this morning. I got into work at 8:44.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on a turquoise t-shirt with a studded pineapple on it. I also have on blue jeans and New Balance 653 shoes.

MORNING COMMUTE:
Its been hot all weekend I found it difficult to sleep. In fact it was so hot that I began to sweat while standing still doing nothing. Usually it takes some expendiature of energy on my part for me to sweat. This was all quiet remarkable sweating while doing nothing.

As you can imagine since I found it difficult sleep I was late for work. Oddly enough, I caught the train a lot of co-workers who are normally on time do. The reason being is that the previous train either did not show up or showed up so ahead of schedule that that the people who normally catch it missed it.

As I have stated in past entries the on time train has the tendency to sometime show up way ahead of schedule. It its of two tendencies either on time or early.

OVERTIME CONTEST PART DEUX?
We have yet another summer overtime contest thingy. I do not know what happened with that iPod one that we received fliers about. Did anyone ever win the iPod? This time its for cold hard cash OK cash that’s susceptible to current tax law. I like this better than the iPod thingy.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Today, I have on a magenta top, blue jeans, and Nike MaxAir shoes.

I did very little walking during my lunch break. Baltimore is in the midst of a heatwave and outside it feels like soup. I do not want to aggravate my asthma. I plan on doing some mall walking after work.

PRESCHEDULED DAY OFF
I think it would be tantamount to suicide to go to work today after spending the weekend at a concert. I got home late because since its the weekend transportation is more sporadic on Sundays.

Yesterday I saw Interpol and Smashing Pumpkins. Alas, there was no D’Arcy. Several years ago I sold a painting online to someone named D’arcy from California. I always wondered if it was D’Arcy from Smashing Pumpkins. I think it would have been awkward for me to send an email to the person who my bought my painting asking if they played for Smashing Pumpkins. So to this day I wonder did a sell a painting to D’Arcy?

I went to bed late because I got home late. I also woke up late. Luckily, I managed to squeeze some domestic chores in today. I went to the laundromat and downloaded a shitload of music off of iTunes. Mainly LCD Soundsystem. That fat guy rocked the house last Saturday or was it Sunday? I also made new radio stations on Pandora. I now have an Industrial Metal Station or is it an Industrial Rock Station? Also I have added a Disco Station.

NEW DRESS SIZE??
Today it was extremely hot again. I put on a pair of shorts that I bought several months ago that I was afraid to try on. The reason being is that they are one size smaller than I normally buy. I did this because I felt and still feel as though my pants and some of my tops are too big for me. I was pleasantly surprised when I put on the shorts and I could actually zip them up with no trouble. Oh my goodness I believe its official I have dropped down a dress size! But what if its just that brand of shorts?... What if I buy more things in the next size down and they do not fit? It could have all been a fluke. Im still afraid to actually try on clothes for fear that they will not fit. Thats why I decided to buy the shorts without trying them on. They were inexpensive and if they did not fit I would just be out a couple of bucks. Lucky for me they do fit.

VIRGIN FESTIVAL DAY TWO
Its the second day of Virgin Fest
It was not as hot as it was yesterday. My main concern was getting home. I do not have to worry about work tomorrow because I am scheduled to have Monday off. I felt that it was a good idea to do that because I do not know what type of shape I will be in on Monday morning. The main attractions for me were The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Smashing Pumpkins, and Crystal Method. I again spent the day taking small sips off of water bottles. I bought another box of breakfast bars. Again spent the day in fear of having a bowel movement and having to use a porta potty. I left out a little early because I wanted to see Spoon.

VIRGIN FESTIVAL DAY ONE
Did not do overtime today because of Virgin Festival. The headlining acts for Saturday are The Beastie Boys and The Police. At first I was not sure if I was going to go but changed my mind last minute. Afterall, how often will I get the opportunity to see The Police?<[p> It was brutally hot. I left for the show around 5PM. I started off over my fathers house then one of my nieces showed up and offered to drive me home. I accepted. I do not know why I did not tell her that I was headed to Pimlico. The main reason I went was to see The Police. I felt sad that I missed because I was afraid of the heat. I also missed Amy Winehouse. I wanted to get there just as the sun was cooling down. I bought two water bottles with me. One was a tall bottle the other was a flavoured water. I was not sure if they would accept the flavoured water but they did. I also bought along a box of Kelloggs Special K bars in case I get hungry. My main personal goal was not to eat or do anything that would lead me to having to use a porta potty. So I spent the evening taking small sips of water and nibbling on the breakfast bars. Mainly I just sweated a lot. Luckily, they had cooling tents set up at Pimlico. This helped a little to relieve the heat.

The Beastie Boys looked like nice clean men. Loved the suits. They looked pretty classy. As I was walking around the grounds I could have sworn I saw a man who looked a little like Kirk McKuen formerly of the 98 Rock Morning Show. Everytime I go to events like this I find myself looking around to see if there are any other people of colour around. I saw a couple. So I was not the only black girl there. I also saw a man who looked like Kirk McKuen. I guess it was OK for him to be because in truth the event was sponsored by Virgin Mobile not 98 Rock who advertised the concert adnauseum. Also WTMD was promoting as well. It was not the HFStival. Which I believe McKuen was spotted at several years ago. The HFStival was a concert festival that was put on by the legendary now defunct WHFS.

I hope that Richard Branson, the crazy billionaire that owns Virgin, decides to hold the concert again next year in Baltimore. However, next year I hope its held in September like last years concert was. I do not recall the weather being so brutal last year. Or perhaps they could hold it in May like the the HFStival was held.

Overall best dressed band goes to the Beastie Boys. I was not sure how I would be let in for the next day because I bought a two day pass. They just give you one ticket. Sadly, I had to miss my new favourite group, The Fratelli’s due to fear of heat. When they hit the stage the sun will be at maximum strength. Also missed the legendary Cheap Trick. I have a couple of their songs on my iPod. I have Surrender, The Dream Police, and I Want You To Want Me. I have no plans of ever downloading their wimpy power ballad comeback song, The Flame. I’m not that sensitive of a chick. Remember my all time favourite band is The Clash and The Clash never did any wimpy power ballads. All their stuff is uptempo.

MORNING COMMUTE:
Found it difficult to get to sleep last night. In other words the heatwave is back. Wherever I slept there was sure to form a pool of sweat. As I type this I am finding it difficult to keep my eyes open. I guess I will be drinking lots of caffeine today and trying to stay under air conditioning.

WHAT IM WEARING:
Black slacks, black canvas tennis shoes, and a magenta short sleeve silk crew neck top.

REVISITING HEROES
Today, I had a pre-scheduled day off. I had to use the day to go to the Creative Alliance to pick up my work from the gallery. One thing I have to write is that it was extremely hot outside. When I got home I decided to cool down and watch Heroes online starting from the first episode, Origins.

I only started watching the show in January after Christopher Eccleston joined the cast. This evening I watched up to episode 5. I was floored at how much foreshadowing and links were being made in the first five episodes. I’ll try to time my watching with BBC2’s re-airing of the episodes. That way I can listen on BBC Radio 7’s Saturday Heroes and show and be on the same page as the rest of the viewers only I already know how the series ends I just never saw the first 11 episodes. I wonder what happens to Mohinders’ pixie looking neighbor? Had no idea Mama Petrelli was a shoplifter she seems to classy for that. You also get to see her cold cruelty towards favoring one son over the other. No sign of Sylar yet. I wonder who his first victim is?
