arihest, originally uploaded by willisgirl.

The above is a picture of New York singer/songwriter Ari Hest.

The bus was on time. This is a pretty good track record. Also it was driven by the stern looking woman. So I suppose I can assume that the line I take in the morning is the Murphy Brown bus no more. According to tradition hopefully she will be our driver up until Spring when they have there usual driver switch over. The one thing odd this morning was that we got the bus where there are just two very long rows of chairs. I hate this kind of bus. It leaves you with the only option but to stare at each other throughout the ride. It’s kind of like a very long couch. I like it best when there are two seats on each side of the bus in a row. This allows you to look out the window.

The light rail was on time it’s being driven by the gray haired man. The light rail baby is aboard. It’s wearing the blue jeans jacket and pants set. It just blew a giant snot bubble out it’s nose. I suppose it must have a cold or something.

The train is unusually cold this morning. I wonder if the driver is aware that the train is cold. I’m sure where he is sitting it’s probably warm and toasty.

WHERE I WENT LAST NIGHT: Last night I went to the Ari Hest concert at Mount Vernon Park. It was ok. It wasn’t on par with a pseudo religious experience like one would have seeing a U2 concert. Ok, maybe that’s just me... Anyway, Ari really does kind of look like a terrorist. I wonder if he’s always pulled aside whenever he takes airplanes. I know I would if I were in charge of airport security.

Anyway, the concert was pretty good. I didn't know that many of the songs that he played. Despite this I have no complaints and I had a pretty good time. I was in a pretty laid back mood as was the crowd gathered at Mount Vernon Park.

Ari had on a black and white t-shirt with black pants maybe black jeans. The t-shirt he had on had black quarter length sleeves with a picture of some guy exuberantly playing the guitar on the front.

He played his big WTMD radio hit, “They’re After Me”, as his final song of the evening. Also he did one song where he sang parts of XTC’s, Mayor of Simpleton. It was neat that he worked that song into one of his songs.

The opening act was a Baltimore group called June Bug. I don’t know anything about them. They don’t even have a website! Anyway, when I got there they were playing then I heard on the radio that Ari would be taking the stage at 7:00. So I left and came back around 7PM.

The only person I saw that I kind of sort of knew was the cute Asian guy who used to take the light rail with me in the morning. He’s very tall, thin, and seems to wear black 24-7. I haven’t seen him in weeks. I suppose he’s either gotten a job somewhere else, or is on vacation, or bought a car. Either way it was nice to see a familiar face in the crowd.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Today, I’m wearing a purple long sleeved Henley shirt with a white long sleeved shirt underneath. I’m also wearing blue jeans with beige canvas shoes along with it.

The bus was on time this morning. It was driven by the stern looking woman. The seat covers were back to their regular design. However, their was an unusual amount of people on the bus. I had to stand up. The light rail was on time. It was driven by the gray haired man. The light rail baby is back! It’s wearing a heavy blue parka with rust colored pants.

BIG RADIO NEWSHoward Stern is moving to
Sirius
satellite radio after his contract is up in 15 months. They are paying him 100 million a year. I can not begin to fathom making that much money a year. I’m very excited about this. It looks like I’ll have to look into getting satellite radio. I don’t know much about it. I wonder if you can carry satellite radio with you like you can a regular radio? I would like to listen to it throughout the day and not just at home with a special set up. I have a about a year to research it. As I understand it’s just $10 a month. This doesn’t sound too bad in comparison to how much I used to pay for cable.

MUSIC I recently heard this really great cover of >Steve Miller Band’s the Joker done by Fat Boy Slim with vocals by 70's funk icon Bootsy Collins. It sounded incredible.

Also I would like to see Ari Hest perform tonight. I hate to say it but from the photos on his website he kind of looks like a terrorist. Anyway, he’s the absolute last act of WTMD’s outdoor first Thursday concerts in the Park.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY Today I’m wearing a cream colored short sleeve t-shirt, blue jeans, and beige Muppet shoes. I’m also wearing a new necklace I bought from >Avon. It’s a cubic zirconia star necklace that came with it's own sterling silver chain..

It’s cold again this morning. I suppose that can be expected. It is fall after all.

This morning the bus was on time. It was driven yet again by the stern looking woman. An interesting thing that I noticed is that it looked different inside the bus. It appears that some of the seats have been re-apolstered. Some of the chairs have this neat multi colored star design on a black background. I’m an artist, I like colors, so seeing this really brightened up the start of my day.

The light rail train was also on time this morning. This time it was driven by a different man than the usual gray haired man. There was no sign of the light rail baby this morning. I think it might have a cold. Yesterday, I heard it cough a couple times.

VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE: I watched the debate last night between Dick Cheney and John Edwards. All in all I feel that John Edwards won the debate.

PLANS OF THE DAY I would like to go to the art store to pick up some more supplies. I’m doing this so that I can use up my gift certificate before it runs out at the end of the year. Also I would like to paint a little more this evening.

YESTERDAYS PLANS: It was really cold outside yesterday, so I drew inside the Gallery instead of outside around the Inner Harbor. I also did some editing there as well. Next time I would like to take a camera. The way the fall light was hitting buildings looked fabulous. The colors were all orange and gold. I would like to do a painting that features late afternoon autumn sunlight.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Today, I’m wearing a light purple or lavender long sleeve v-neck pullover top with a t-shirt peeking out underneath. I believe it’s called the layered look. I’m wearing the pul over with dark blue slacks and black Payless shoes. The reason I’m not wearing my usual tennis shoes is that it’s business casual day at work. We have to dress up like normal adults when ever we have visitors coming to our work place. As always for all I know space aliens could be coming over. They rarely say who it is that’s coming.

First off I have to say, it’s cold as I don’t know what this morning.

The bus was on time. I got the stern woman who drives the #20. The light rail was also on time. It’s the same old gray haired man. The light rail baby is aboard the train. It’s wearing a jeans jacket and pants. I still can’t make out it’s gender.

PLANS OF TODAYToday, I would like to hang out at the Inner Harbor and do some sketches up until 8:30PM and then head home. I also intend on listening to two new cd’s I got over the weekend. The cd’s I bought are Ray Lamontagne’s, Trouble. I bought this cd on the strenght of one song, the title track, Trouble. Overall, I feel that Ray Lamontagne has a phenomenal voice. I hope that we will be hearing more from him in the future. The other cd I bought is a re-buy of Squeeze’s classic cd Singles 45’s and Under. I already have a copy of the Squeeze album but it’s on cassette. I can’t wait to hear it again.

OUTFIT OF THE DAYToday, I’m wearing the same outfit I had on yesterday. I had it on for just two hours yesterday so it’s still practically new and unworn.

Today, I had my doctor’s appointment. As expected my tumor has gotten larger. My doctor is worried that it might have gotten so big that it might be encroaching in on my kidneys and thus cause additional complications. So as expected she wants me to have a sonagram done so that she can get a clearer view of what’s going on.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY I’m wearing my new outfit today. It’s a long sleeve red and white waffle knit shirt with dark blue slacks and beige Muppet shoes. I’ve worn it for just two hours today. I’ll probably put it on again tomorrow.

I watched Bottle Rocket this afternoon to cheer myself up. This is the second time that I have seen it since I bought the dvd. It was as good as the first time I saw it.

Since I’ve seen two other Wes Anderson/Owen Wilson movies I can now pick up regular cast members like the real Stephen Dignan, Kumar and his son, and the real Brian Tenenbaum.

However, I was surprised that I missed Andrew Wilson. I didn’t notice that I missed Owen and Luke’s real life older brother, Andrew, until I read the end credits.

In case you’re keeping score Kumar plays the elderly safe cracker. Kumar’s son plays the man at the door in the book store. The real Stephen Dignan plays a book store worker. You first see him sitting on the floor arranging books. The real Brian Tenenbaum plays the guy in the elevator. He’s really big you can’t miss him. Andrew Wilson plays Future Man. I suppose I missed him because his hair was short in this movie. Anyway, I can’t wait to see what small roles they take on in the next Wes Anderson movie.

OUTFIT OF THE EVENINGRight now I’m wearing a red plaid night shirt with white footies.
